Robert Hawk, Sr.

Bob is amongst the SJD’s most active and experienced trial attorneys, specializing in complex and difficult litigation. He has tried, to jury, a wide variety of cases, including: contract disputes, insurance coverage issues, criminal defense, medical malpractice, personal injury lawsuits, trucking defense, and plaintiffs’ litigation. Bob has special expertise in trucking and transportation litigation, from both the plaintiffs’ and defense perspectives. Career highlights include a successful libel suit against CBS and multiple seven figure personal injury recoveries for SJD clients.

Biography

Born in neighboring Calumet City, Illinois; Bob is a lifelong resident of Northwest Indiana and half-brother of screen and stage legend, Shelly Winters. A graduate of Hammond High School, Bob has spent his entire legal career with SJD. Bob has been married over forty (40) years to wife, Kathy. In 1995, Bob was joined in practice by his son. Daughter, Heather, has enjoyed a lifelong career in professional ballet, including as a member of the New York City ballet. In his leisure time, Bob enjoys reading every opportunity he gets and is an avid Chicago White Sox fan.
